Gerd My guess: Francois Pierre de la Varenne 'Le Cuisinier Francois' But would you look at this that I found, nearly 200 years before Catherine di Medici brought some Italian servants with her and taught the french about cooking..... " The Forme of Cury" was the first cookbook published in English in 1390. "The first English cookbook was written in 1390 by the cooks, physicians and philosophers of Richard II.
