We got our cars back! And it only cost us 75,000. As we had been given the cars by an outside source to rent out for them, the Farang Connection put 50,000 in the kitty. The way it was done is something you often see in the movies as well.

We were given a bank account to deposit the money in by phone call. When the money had been checked, the two cars were driven to different locations, and the keys were hidden with instrucions on where to find them. We were then told by telephone all the relevent information. No SAS,SBS,RCMP,RBofS,WAAFS, just the drivers.

The policewoman in question has promised to reimburse us with the full amout( probably when she gets another cotract)

So, if a 23year old, slim, very beautiful, Policewowan named Malee, approaches any of you to hire a car, please, please let her have it ................................................................or we'll never get our money back.

The money is being returned in installments. So far we have had 38,000 back, roughly half. She still has the two mo-ci's though, although she has promised them back + the outstanding hire fee. Let us watch a wait.

Why hasn't the OP gone to a Thai lawyer and claimed back the money owed ? The woman has committed a criminal offence, why aren't charges being pressed ? Irrespective of what he bosses say ? Wasn't the OP involved in a police incident in the past ? Maybe a police payback scam, me thinks.

Good thought, but that is in the past. They still come to me for advice on Falang matters, and we now laugh over the incident. Anyway, being pulled up for over the limit driving is hardly a capitol offence. I also gave them a wonderful picture to remind them of me.

Sorry OP I still reckon the police have scammed you. They may laugh at previous incidents, but they're doubly laughing, in that you think all is forgotten. It seems a coincidence that you get turned over by a police officer not long after your run in with the law. Lodge a complaint. Irrespective of whether the offender is a policewoman, why aren't you seeking recompence for your loss ? I would, and a Thai would, if it were the other way around.

I'd have to say it is a terrible idea. Have you ever watched a Thai use power tools. Thailand would be an ideal testing grounds for manufacturers. If a Thai can't break it, it's a VERY good tool.

I loaned out an angle grinder and it came back as junk. The same with a drill. My wife loaned out our blender and the glass portion got broken. I have a drill press in the garage. All my drill bits are broken and no one broke them.

It's not a laughing matter. Stealing cars is a crime and the woman should be in jail. Any way you look at it, she stole the vehicles.

No, the bit we laugh about is when I mooned the Police cameraman trying to take a mug-shot.
