From John Montagu aka Lord Sandwich,

who discovered and gave his name to an archipelago in Pacific Ocean.

Legend says that he created that "snack" during that trip.

Had the Bread and Meat = Sandwich Deliverd to his Card Table so he did not have to stop Playing.

It was the First Earl of Sandwich((1718-1792), well known for heavy gambling, never had time for a proper meal and his chefs created the "Sandwich" for him.
