Weeks ago I had a Maxnet connection for Baht 590 with 2 Mbps. Then they gave me 3 Mbps for free. Now I got 5 Mbps. And it really runs at this speed. This all in Pattaya. What will be next - 10 Mbps? I love Maxnet!!!

WOuld love you to post a speedtest from an international (i.e. not within Thailand) located server.

Just the Thaivisa speedtest would do (Singapore based).

This is what I get using a 3Mbps/1Mbps Maxnet Premier account at 2090 Baht +vat.

Last Result:

Download Speed: 1627 kbps (203.4 KB/sec transfer rate)

Upload Speed: 406 kbps (50.8 KB/sec transfer rate)

Latency: 170 ms

Not complaining though, they seem to limit the speed of single connections only, as when using a simple download manager speed is rock stable at 340 kBps (2720 kbps). And 1600 kbps is plenty for streaming video, which never needs to rebuffer...

Running slow today..

Maxnet premier 2Mbit with the upload turned to only 512 for line stability. 1090 baht.

I usually get >1.8 all day.. Both ul and dl seem a little slower than average.

Just run a speed tests on my MaxNet 3MB Indy broadband connection.

Cost: 845.30 Baht per month (Inc tax)

Looks like they’ve upgraded me to 4MB looking at next months bill which i wouldn’t have known had it not been mentioned in another post.

Thai Visa speed-test.

Download Speed: 3504 kbps (438 KB/sec transfer rate)

Upload Speed: 395 kbps (49.4 KB/sec transfer rate)

Latency: 166 ms

True also increased my speed to 3066 kbps downstream about 10 days ago (I'm subscribed to the 2MB package - I've had a bill since then, they're still charging me for the same 2MB package). No idea why they did this, but I ain't complaining.

Can people please post what packages they are on when this info is listed..

In my case it is the Indy package for 590 + VAT. But I just read that True wants to provide internet in Pattaya now. Perhaps this was a reason for Maxnet to provide higher speed at the same price. In this forum member Thaising writes about this and there I read:

"Customers who want an unlimited 3-megabit broadband service will be charged 579 baht a month, which also includes 20 hours for WiFi, Edge and GPRS plus unlimited calls between 5am and 5pm, within True Move's network."

Does not sound so bad...

Hmm... I pay 850 per month for True in BKK and this is what I get:

Download Speed: 735 kbps (91.9 KB/sec transfer rate)

Upload Speed: 363 kbps (45.4 KB/sec transfer rate)

Latency: 431 ms

seems like I'm the sucker here...

What package did you have before and how much you paid for it? I have an Indy for Baht 590 running now at 5 Mbps and I hope I still have it running for 590... I did not change any contract nor did I receive any notification. So I cannot imagine that I will be "upgraded" to Baht 1000 now. So far the upgrades have been for free and I hope there is no change...

But anyhow - your speed looks more like 6 Mbps. Did you check the speed shown in the modem? I have there 5120 /512 kbps. You should have more when I look at your speedtest results.

My Maxnet speeded up the day the rains arrived here in Chon Buri / Chachoengsao. A few more weeks there will be so much rain getting on the lines that it will be the reason for speeds slowing down again ;-)

Here's my 1mB Maxnet Indy blazing all the way to Singapore...

My ADSL modem shows 5114/508 kbps as the current speed, so it really went up and yes it looks more like I was upgraded to 6M.

I get two Maxnet bills to my house for different houses, both in the landlords name, so since one of them shows a 5M package for 1000 Baht, mine might be the other one for 590 Baht, the bill does not show any plan name, and it's a black and white bill, very unusual, but I know my account was always an Indy package, just they don't write the package name now or the speed on the bill.

Is anyone getting upload speeds greater than 400 or 500 kbps with TT&T? I'm not even getting that. I am paying for 2MB download an 1MB upload. I have never gotten anywhere near 1MB upload; currently, I am getting 200-300 kpbs, if that. I am sure the service has deteriorated in the last few months because now I have trouble backing up my files (which I do over the internet) whereas I never had these problems before. The stories of incompetence at TT&T are legion. Two "engineers" spent two fruitless hours at my house yesterday. They did not know what they were doing. In the end, they said that my problems were due to the fact that I have two computers running off the same router! Other people have been told that there is something wrong with their router (when in fact it was perfectly fine). I now that TIT, but this is getting ridiculous.
