LennyW Posted May 4, 2009 Share Posted May 4, 2009 On the way back from Huay Yai this morning we saw a small contingient of heavily armed police outside the Huay Yai town hall, upon travelling on Chaiyapruek 2 past the sports stadium we came upon a huge team of heavily armed police at the Nong Hin junction, we stopped to buy rice at the big rice store and this is what we were told.. At around 09.00 a gold shop somewhere in Pattaya had been held up, a police pursuit ensued and headed up Chayapruek 2 the bronze coloured toyota vios was seen to be shooting at the pursuing police... as they passed the rice store the bandits lobbed a grenade which unfortunately hit a truck driver that was sleeping under his truck and the people in the rice store took him to hospital - blood everywhere!! About 200m further up at the nong hin junction they lobbed another grenade - hence the police there!!, dont know if any injuries there? Anybody have anymore info??
