Shipping books from uk to bkk

Featured Replies

Hi - I need to get some books shipped to Bangkok from the UK (I'd guess the weight about 5Kg).  Can anyone offer any info on method, cost, time for delivery etc - all replies v.gratefully received.

Cheers.I.A

Hey danbo, I don't know specifics for the UK BUT I guess it is very similar to the US as postal regulations are generally similar in EU and US.anyway, I ship books (have done every year btw) using the printed matter rate, I used the M bag, which is printed matter only, min 6K max 35k at roughly $1 US per pound of materials. Goes surface, 2 months (make sure you label the books inside the bag (it is a large bag)with your name and address as sometimes parcels go missing) but in 5 years of doing this have only had one bag go missing. check out the UK postal service website, they should post their printed matter rates to thailand. hope this helps anyway.

Thanks SBK

I was looking to get some educational stuff shipped over in a couple of weeks - probably have to look at DHL or something similar.

I don't think you need DHL, the UK postal service should also have a printed matter airmail rate as well as surface. check their website, they should list printed matter/paper rates. royal mail website
Try Parcelforce from the UK. I lived in Uk for several years and they have the service you might want. They're part of the Royal Mail and you can send by surface or Air. They have a site on the net with info on service and prices.
