angustan Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 guys any idea if alcohol sales are allowed today at villa market or any supermarts considering that its a buddhist holiday today? clubs open tonight as well? heard that some clubs are closed thanks
Tod Daniels Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 I just talked to some Nana Plaza “time share” gurls on their way to work. They said NEP will be open and selling, but early in the nite it will be in glasses ONLY, no open displaying of bottles. They also indicated their 'sisters', who work at Soi Cowboy will have the day off as it is closed. Different Police district; Lumpini vs. Thonglo.. Both Tops and Foodland near my apartment have the tarps over their liquor with the proverbial sign explaining why. However, I just came from a small mom & pop mini-mart type shop and alcohol is being sold, albeit wrapped in newspaper.

G54 Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 or maybe not Depends where you go and as often the case, who is involved in running the place A BiB friendly place a kilometre or so from me is open and selling beer.
DP25 Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 All the grocery stores and 7-11s I've been in today have been selling, as well as the restaurants and bars I've walked past.
mahtin Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Just bought 10 red roses for the Buddha on the wall and a litre of Merlot for the wife, which set me back less than 5 Euros. Downside is I'm still in Munich, but Spring is nice and so is the beer. A cold Augustiner is calling me now. Yes it is difficult. Just say yes
