Just wondering where I can buy decent DJ gear in Bangkok, including monitor speakers (Yamahas). Also, I want to buy a decent MIDI controller. I'm hoping there is a good cheap electronics area / musical instrument area in Bangkok.

Your best bet is to wander down Petchaburi road from Pantip to Ratchatewi BTS station - you'll walk past quite a few music equipment stores in that area selling pro-end gear. Afraid all names of the shops have escaped me right now.

Another place to go is DJ Shop on RCA.

Try BANMHO area,its just after china town,lots of shops there,hope you get lucky.

This place has some good stuff. I got a vox amp there, price was good (only about 10% higher than USA...). Check out there web site, might find what you want. I cant post the url, but it is on Lad Prao road, not too far from central. name of place is pro plugin dot com. Should be able to get url from google, since I cant give it to you....
