u guys really are slow.

2000 baht thai ring

2000 baht farang ring

no mark up

stop buying your wife a cheap ticket and instead sit her next to you

That's only true of the ring side seats. The second and third class seats for foreigners are not the same price as Thai seats. And as a farang, you have to put up a fight to even get them to sell you anything other than ring side.

yeah, that's why you should only buy ring side tickets.

its like buying the 24 roll of toilet paper for 8 baht a roll instead of the single, 20 baht rolls.

:)

Working and paying tax as a temporary resident won't entitle you to local rates in other places too. In places like Australia, the US and the UK, for example, you need permanent residency or citizenship to be eligible for local rates on education. Holders of temporary resident visas pay the foreign rate.

In California, at least, any sort of working visa or temporary residence other than an education visa, as long as you have lived in California for at least one year, entitles you to the resident tuition rate.

You're slow yourself. Heard reports of guys paying 2000 baht, wife gets in for 250 baht, and they let sit with him ringside. Farang can pay 1000 baht for a an obstructed view (which tourists have no way of knowing beforehand) which is behind Thais who got in for 250 baht. No double pricing there? Don't think so, mate, give up your fight, as you're losing, but you obviously won't admit that as you have an agenda.

ah, ok.

so its 2000,250 instead of 2000, 2000

so a farang thai couple ends up paying half of what a thai thai couple pays?

what are you complaining about? that is a great deal.

Wow, it's actually cheaper on Samui - about 800-1000 baht. A year ago I went with farang friend and his Thai wife and they made her pay the same ticket price as us saying there weren't different prices. Uh-huh.

If you live out in Bangkok's western suburbs, then you should really try "Om Noi" stadium at midday on Saturdays (that's where Ch3 film from).

200 THB for guys, 100 THB for ladies.

Watching the punters all going crazy with their hand gestures, multiple mobile phones plastered to a card board sheet - top quality entertainment in its own right.

It's on highway 4 out on the road that takes you you Nakon Pathom. If you like Muay Thai, want the Thai feel and price, then that's where I go.

cheers

No, Thais get in for much cheaper no matter where they sit.

I went recently, and my Thai friends just bought the tickets, we went in for the 250b seats I think which are the ones at the back (behind the cage).

Anyone including the Thais in the next section in front has paid something more than that, maybe 380b or something; the stadium promoters set pricing that means each area is a higher price as you get closer to ring side.

Since most of the Thais don't want to sit ringside (as you cannot gamble) there is an incentive to sell these tickets to someone else; since most farang who go seem to be willing to pay 2000b, as a result mostly the stadium promoters sell to them.

For what it is worth, I don't particularly enjoy the knock outs, and have never watched boxing on the basis of admiring knock out fighters. Had a great night, if we did end up drinking a bit much beer ;-(

muaythai2000.com often has news of when big shows...
