This Type Of Document Does Not Have A Security Certificate

Everytime I click on a web site which has a video imbedded in it and I click to view the video, I just get a blank white screen with either a red x in the top left corner or a tiny black square with an even tinier green circle, blue triangle and red square within it in the top left corner.

I then right clicked on the blank white screen and then hit properties. This provides a little info on the actual video, its URL, size, date created etc. There is also a clickable box called "certificates". When I click this box, a message appears "This type of document does not have a security certificate".

I have scoured my PC to try to discover how to allow my PC to open files that don't have a security certificate (because I'm hoping this will solve the problem) but I can't find how to do it.

An example of a site is here: http://mmapayout.com/2009/05/dana-white-fe...e-docu-tonight/

I can't open this video. I know it works because I can open the video on my wife's PC.

I use XP as my operating system. BTW, the sites I go to are all totally legitimate sites so there would be no reason for my security settings to not allow these files to be opened.

Anybody have any ideas????

Thanks......

That page works ok for me in Firefox (from India mind).

It contains an embedded Youtube video, direct link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HazC1Vy_Z9U

Can you play this, other Youtube videos??

This is likely not a certificate problem as these clips don't use certificates.

EDIT. Check your Windows security settings (Control Panel, Security Center), set too high and you'll get this sort of issue.

Which BROWSER do you use?

Believe you should check Adobe Flash Player and that it is enabled in your browser, as that seems to be what this clip requires. Opens fine in my Chrome browser.

Thanks for the reply.

I can open your referenced video and can open any You Tube video.

I have already set my Windows Security Setting to the lowest level, which is medium to no avail.

Any other thoughts would be much appreciated........

maybe you didn't view my question. IT IS important to mention WHICH browser (version no.) do you use

I have updated my Adobe reader and Flash Player to the latest and still no success.

I am using IE version 7.0

do this one time. Customize all your security settings to LOW and check if that will help.

Starting with "Internet".

From my site I have no problem to open your link with 4 browsers.

I am not an expert on IE7 so wait for more replies to this issue.

I've just installed the Firefox browser and when I go to the site referenced above I get a little blue block with 2 little circles on top with a message saying "click here to downoad plugin".

When I click there, it tells me available plug in is "Adobe Flash Player". I click "Next" and it says "Adobe Flash Player not available" and also " manual install"

I press manual install and Adobe Flash Player version 10.0.22.87 comes up and I press "agree and install now"

It then says "you have chosen to open install_flash_player.exe would you like to save this file?"

I click "save". It then says all files are successfully downloaded.

I reboot and still can't open the video file.

I had a look at the html code for youtube player on both pages. There is no differences between them. So do you have any software that might have blocked Flash? Some Flash blocker may not detect Flash video player on Youtube because the object code is generated using (perhaps) Javascript.

can you see Flash animation on http://www.adobe.com/ ?

You need to run the download - you saved it so go to tools/downloads and double click it - you will probably get a warning that it is a program and do you really want to run it - as you know what it is just say yes.

Hey Lopburi3 or anyone else. I spoke a bit too soon. I had installed Firefox and ran the Adobe update and the videos did become visible. Interestingly they are still not visible if I use the IE browser, no biggie as I can just use Firefox. However I have found on a couple of occasions I still can't run the odd video even on Firefox. I have seen a message saying "your java script is turned off" and I can't see how I can turn it on. Any suggestion?

Thanks again for all the help..........
