Auf Wiedersehen Pet In Thailand

Featured Replies

I was lent the dvd yesterday and have just finished watching it, Very dissapointed i'm afraid.

The new series in the USA and Havana were quite good but this one is total BS. IMHO.

The sad thing is some people will watch it and believe that it feature's the real LOS. :o

yes its total <deleted> , eastenders viewers and Sun readers dont know the difference .

still the film crew get a freebee

i turned off after 10 minutes ..

Me and my lad started to watch it (he saw the trailer and was keen to watch) , we switched off after a few minutes total pants.

The problem is that 'eastenders viewers and Sun readers' make up a rather large percentage ofthe UK population.

Dave - too hard on it mate!! I was amused by some of it!! (stereotypical thick view point, but what do you expect?)

The second series, set in Derbyshire & Spain, was the best, imo. - Ally Fraser & Kenny Ames were a class double act.

The third series, set on Teeside & in Arizona, was saved by the excellent Geoffrey Grainger MP character.

Series four, set in Cuba, was just silly, as was the recent Christmas special, set in Thailand.

Time they hung up their boots and picked up their retirement visas...... :o .....all a bit of old hat now... :D

That's all we need, more <deleted> northerners :o

never heard of it, what is it?

It should never have been brought back without a decent story & script, which the newer series' never had, unfortunately. :o

I've only ever seen the first couple of series. One of the best shows I have ever seen.

launched the careers of a few of the lads too.

The original series was pukka, set in Germany when Brit brickies went out there to earn wads tax-free. The Krauts soon put a stop to that lark, IIRC. :o

So many guys from the UK could identify and even got the opportunity to imitate them. :D

The late 70s and early 80s was a bloody miserable time for so many in blighty with mass unemployment in the building industry, shipyards, mining, road construction etc.when a certain person rendered the shout ... "get onya Bike" :D:o

Fortunately for some of the punters who although so well skilled (and a few who were not)in the UK,opportunities abroad started appearing noteably in places like Germany,Saudi Arabia,Nigeria and also a wee non descripe airport number in the Falkland Islands. ...eh.....falklands..wheres that? :D

For about a 5 year period terminal 3 at Heathrow Airport resembled a combination of a massive, impromptu job centre with all and sundry departing for "foreign fields" job locations ....after more than just a few wet ones in the Plumbers Arms (before departure) On BA flights to Jeddah the standard beer order was "6 please" each and another when 6 when you have a minute ...Pet..dear...hen

Any one who could lay a brick or plaster a wall went to build new palaces in Saudi.Half decent sparks, pipe wrestlers or house painters got a 12 monther offshore in either the North Sea,West Africa or in the area between Sabah and Malaysia.....all good fun as well. :D

Life was never the same...again :D:D
