PM: Pension funds for the disabled launched next year

BANGKOK, 24 May 2009 (NNT) - Speaking on his weekly talk show "Confidence in Thailand with Abhisit" on Sunday through NBT station, the Prime Minister stated that Pension Funds for Persons with Disabilities program will be tentatively inaugurated around April next year.

Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva says the government plans to implement the Pension for disabled citizens project, a scheme to provide financial assistance to disabled people via a monthly payment of 500 baht each, after the weekly Cabinet's resolution on the provision of accessible public facilities for persons with disabilities.

Meanwhile, the premier urged all parents to report their complaints concerning flaws and inconveniences incurred by the government’ 15-year free education program through the Ministry of Education’s hotline 1579 and dial 111 for any notification on Senior Pension Fund.
