Online Application

Featured Replies

hi guys

can anyone give me some info on what happens after our settlement visa goes to the british embassy

they sent email to my wife with a ref number

ive tried to access the application online and carnt get into it ,my wife not to hot with the pc yet so she does not fully understand the whole thing

is this of any benifit to see online or im i right in thinking it will just come up as being processed?

what happens when they have done the application if they dont want to interview her will they let her know by phone or email her?

thanks all

They will return her docs in around 10 weeks so the answer is await the next message to collect them.

If she asked to be notified by SMS then she will recieve a text when her passport is returned to the VAC and is ready for collection. If she didn't then you or she will need to check here regularly.

Either way, she will only be notified that her passport is ready for collection. The result of an application is confidential between the visa section and the applicant, so passports and documents are returned to the VAC in sealed envelopes.

If an interview is required then she will be contacted directly by the visa section at the embassy.

Settlement applications do seem to be taking a long time at present, 10 to 12 weeks at least, due mainly to a large demand.

Its just a case of waiting at the moment long gone are the 10 days to process most applications.

scotland

The online checking system as you rightly surmise generally just tells you it has been passed to the Embassy. That said i believe it is the place where you will first get word of when it is ready for picking up.

If nothing else it allows you to check each day as often as you want for an update.

Can be disheartening but we all still seem to be checking 2-3 times each day.

Average waiting times appear to be approx 10 weeks at the moment.

You may want to join in on this thread with the rest of us.
