I remember Chinese NY, last year.

At 6pm, a friend gave me a cherry bomb which I threw over the road onto some waste ground. Didn't half make a bang!! A couple of seconds later, a plainclothes policeman walked into the bar and gave me a soung ticking off. "You can't set off fireworks after 2pm".

The next night, my friend had a serious pyrotechnic display from the balcony of his bar. Again it was around 6pm. Again, the local constabulary were not amused.

Can I set fireworks off tonight?

Fireworks are already going off where I am, at 11:00 in the morning.

The strings of firecrackers have been going off on our street since just after I got up at 6am.... :o

Yeah, I had an abrubt awakening this morning, thought someone was out there with an Ak47 :D untill I swam up to full consiousness and realised it was Chinese New year! :D
