Log Off Icons

Friend of the wifes came round yesterday with her laptop asking if I could restore the original LOG OFF icons that she was used to.

She is not very computer savvy and tends to do a lot of random clicking to get things done and somehow managed to change to a window with drop down menu with the Log Off options instead of the original ones. (Win XP)

She wants these:-

How can she get these back?

I'm sure selecting the original XP them from the control panel would do the trick.

Oops, cancel that, go to user accounts in the control panel and change the way users log on and logoff and enable the welcome screen option if I remember correctly.

DD try going to start / control panel / personalization. In the panel on the left hand side is a section under " see also " named taskbar and start menu. Select. Then select the start menu from the tabs and then select " classic start menu ". That should give your friend the old style shut down options At least it should

open Control Panel / open user accounts / click >change the way users log on and off<

Mark the box next to "Use Welcome Screen".

This should work...

Thanks for the suggestions. Have not been able to try any as she as not brought over her laptop yet.

Will post here if anything works. Any additional ideas welcome
