Hi,

I just got back from a smaller branch(than my Pattaya main branch bank) SCB & was told I need a work permit to transfer funds back to the U.S. on a loan I took out from same bank I wire into Thailand from. I was surprised that they even questioned why I needed to wire money back to the U.S. & was told can not do it. Sounds like bull. I can take 10,000 USD back in cash but prefer to just transfer funds. Is this common practice in Thailand or just this bank branch. If it is SCB's policy who can send money back to the U.S. Bangkok bank or Citibank. I bank with Citibank in The U.S.

Anyone know about how to do it. 5 years n0o bellyachen about endless wire transfers here & the 1st time I want to send some back I am getting a Wah Wah!

Thanks Barry
