New Non-imm 'b'

Featured Replies

I arrived here on Non-Imm 'B' in September last year. Job offer was subsequently withdrawn as economic crisis unfolded. Have been living on my savings ever since and doing a visa run to the border every 90 days. I have just received my new Work Permit and will start my job next week, in August I will do a visa run for the 'extra' 90 days, when that expires in November what are my options?

Send all necessary docs including Work Permit off to Hull for new 'B' visa?

Travel to Uk and renew in person or travel to nearby country where they will issue?

Are there any possible complications I should be aware of?

1. Use of Hull by mail from Thailand would not be allowed and if a visa was issued by mistake it would not be valid.

2. If your employment pays a salary that allows extension of stay from Immigration (and company paperwork qualifies) a one year extension of stay should be your goal. No leaving country required then. You do that at local immigration office.

3. If you can not extend, you may be able to obtain another multi entry from KL with a work permit dated for more than six more months or a stamp that you qualify and the normal company paperwork.

If the company can meet the requirements you could get an extension of stay at immigration for 1 year.

If you have a work permit you can get a new multiple entry B in KL. You would need at least 8 months validity on your work permit to get it though. So if that it is what you need to do it might be best to get a new visa instead of the extra 90 days from your current visa.
