I'm selling my new Samsung monitor and Lexmark printer since I'm leaving the country. Can somebody tell me if any computer shops here rebuy hardware? If so, where?

Pantip has many second hand shops ... I am sure somebody would like to buy your stuff. Don't quite remember the correct floor, probably 3 or 4 (in the back).

Should I bring the hardware immediately while looking for a buyer, or do I go there and talk to someone first? Thanks. :)

Depends on what money your looking for......... yesterday was at Seer Ransit IT, looked at both LG & Samsung 22" both were 5,300 new, noticed in another shop had 2nd hand 19" Samsung LCD monitors @ 2,400 baht

Hi.

I guess nobody will buy the printer.... a Lexmark cost below 900 Baht brand new (i've got one, 860 Baht at Tesco Lotus) and i failed to sell even a higher end Epson some time ago (that cost around 4,000 Baht when new).

For the monitor go and ask several shops, don't jump at the first one that makes an offer.

And yes, you have to bring the device, they will want to test it before making you an offer. I sell second hand computer bits regularly and know from experience. Some try to rip you off, watch them when they do their tests - they love to plug a monitor only half in and then offer you less because it flickers or shows weird colours.

Kind regards....

Oh? Thanks for the warning. Well I'll try first at a shop in IT Mall. If not, I'll go there. The Lexmark is actually a printer/scanner/fax in one. Only a few months old. The monitor is also less than 1 year old. How much of the original street price should I expect if it's in great condition? I think mine still have warranty.

Hi :)

Oh ok, if it's a multi-purpose machine it's a different story. You might be able to sell that..... while ink jet printers (that can "only" print) are pretty much impossible to sell :D However i have no indication at all how much you could get for one of those...... For the monitor, i'd say maybe 50% of the CURRENT new price of the same model, the reason being that the shop will sell it at no more than 75% of the new price as otherwise nobody would buy it..... however i can not guarantee that, it may as well be less than that.

I myself unfortunately have no spare cash right now, otherwise i'd make you an offer.... but you can also use the ThaiVisa classified section, that is free and you might get a better price there than at a second-hand shop (which always offers less as they want to make a profit as well).

Best regards.....

Thanh
