Run Apple Mac Apps Native On Linux Computer

Featured Replies

I found an article about the development of a OSX API similar as the WINE project, which is a project to run Windows programs on non Windows computers running FreeBSD, OS X, Linux and others

The author is convinced that it is not that difficult to pull it off? Mac Apps Native on none Apple OS

As I understand it, this project is completely different then running a Virtual Machine and installing the Mac OS... Therefore it could work, or not...

Assuming that the apps are POSIX compliant; shouldn't be too hard....however I wouldn't expect too much information to be forthcoming from Apple in this regard.

I can say Microsoft looks at the source code of the Wine project with a magnifying class, but you can expect Apply to bring a microscope and a few sets of lawyers to just scare you...

They have already a way to give Ubuntu linux the look and feel of Apple OS X by installing the Mac4Lin theme

And if they can also make it run OS X applications ... who needs anything else, then on one desktop I can run Apple, second desktop Windows and 3th some native Linux applications...
