My absolute favorite for the last year is Diana-Oasis (diana-oasis.com)! Never been in a place i was taken care of so well! Very visitor-friendly!

What a deal for about 650 ! Baht on their monthly rate. 2 Pools, Gym, Restaurant, Breakfast, WIFI, Beautiful Studios, Car Park, Security and Perfect Location! They are within Diana-Estate, their office/reception in the restaurant Oasis at the small pool! Tell them John (Aussieland) sent you and Meow, the manager will take good care of you! You weilllover it,mate! Don't confuse with other offices in the Estate which rent old rooms with hardly any service! :) JL.

Girl Friendly(?) I think they all are assuming you are a good GIRL :) Hope you have lots of fun on your trip. If you are a beautiful girl the Jomtin Beach might be a good reference point for starter, where you choose beWARE on Aging Farangs out for a Cold Beer and a HOT Chick. :D:D:D CHEERS

Nice recommendation but your prices don't stack up with the website.

fabman - is price your main concern ? What standard of accommodation do want ? How long are you staying ? Do you have a favoured location ?

Why so big on the pool - are you intending to give swimming lessons to your female companions :)

I would suggest something more high end. I stayed in a small guest house/hotel for a few nights last year and was involved in an unpleasent row when the night porter/person tried to insist on logging my wifes id card details though I made the booking in both our names. Wifey was not inpressed at the mans presumptions and what he said in Thai does not bear repeating.

Sorry, 650/day with monthly booking....they actually have some that start at 500 day/ monthly....Where in the world can you get a brand new room with all amenities for that money!? Amazing Pattaya! Tried the Philippines last year and paid double for half the quality!

what is a girl friendly hotel ?

Some of the 4 and 5 star hotels would not allow customers to bring bar girls to their rooms. I also recommend the Oasis Diana. Some of my friends stay there and it's handy to most everything. I believe they have a guard at the entrance for security purposes. At this time of season there shouldn't be any trouble getting a room. In high season it helps to book ahead.

Same here.......I don't understand what a "girl friendly hotel" is.

Definition? Clarification?

I think I have it.......it is a safe hotel. Yes?

No JRT, a girl-friendly hotel is one that accepts (or encourages) you taking a girl back to your room.

Example 1 - 3 years ago the Montien Hotel was charging 850 Baht per night for you to sign in a "guest". Plus they took the ID card off the girl until she left.

Example 2 - The Queen Victoria in Soi 6 (which was charging 850 Baht per night for a deluxe room) staes that "you are welcome to bring guests back to your room, no extra charges are made for overnight guests".

There are many more GF Hotels in Pattaya, but the Queen Vic is of course in the middle of the action. A friend told me they do have a nice Jaquzzi Suite too, so may be nice.

To the OP, you may try other Information Boards, more dedicated to the holiday activity you are looking for. But one of them is a secret, you may google that :)

In many hotels the staff look down on the girls brought in or they treat them very rude. This is one of the reasons why I have moved to Diana-Estate (diana-estate.com).

More of a residential type setting, with may long term residents, many of them with regular girls. The staff at Diana-Oasis Restaurant has always been friendly or even funny with my visitors. Security sometimes is a bit annoying, but at the end they look out for us, so.....

Some of the hardcore bg.can also be very arrogant towards wait staff. Seen it many times. O.c. then the feedback will not be favorable and the staff will let them feel what they think about them.

JL. :)

I stayed many times at the Queen Vic (circa 850 for a good room) and also tried the Jasmine Suite (with Jacuzzi - 2,100 Baht). It is a bit of a Falang oasis in Soi 6 good food and friendly staff. The only slight drawback is having to walk up 3 flights of steepish stairs to the better rooms and having to use the fire escape steps after closing time (not really an issue and security works well with the motorcycle taxi boys in Soi 6/1). A good location if your holiday is on foot.

There are cheaper places the other side of Second Road which are not so convenient unless you are hiring a motorbike. But get towards Soi Bukhao and the secondary action (after the more expensive Sois between Beach Road and Second Road) and rooms can be had for 500 Baht or less.

If someone is visiting for the first time and is looking for a lively time it may be worth booking into somewhere like the Queen Vic for a couple of days to see if you like it. Accommodation is easy to find so you can always move after a few days if you prefer a different location.

Pretty sad that the staff look down on the girls, rather than the punter who paid for her. She is only doing her job. I guess seeing as the man is the paying guest, its the girls that get the brunt of their disdain over the situation, rather than him. Sad really. Feel more sorry for the legitimate Thai gfs/wives who may get treated badly or with suspicion because of negative assumptions.

This is a bit off topic, but one evening I was walking around Walking Street with my Thai wife near FAO.

I can't remember the hotel, but it was on a small soi across from FAO and by the 7-11.

We walked in the lobby and they looked at me like I had done something wrong and said "no Thais in our hotel.......no Thais!"

Wow........I was with my wife.

Wifey was not inpressed at the mans presumptions and what he said in Thai does not bear repeating.

My long term girlfriend were checking in for a return trip to The Hard Rock Hotel, we had actually booked a suite but had to go to the main desk downstairs before being taken up to the lounge to properly check in. Despite the fact that the girl on the desk had seen us arrive together she immediately assumed my girlfriend was a bar girl, or the like, and she said to her in Thai "you want to sleep with your customer here do you", though I wasn't aware of it. There was a look of embarrassment on her face when she checked the booking and found that we were regular "VIP guests" and the booking was in both of our names. She then had to escort us to the lounge and I really didn't pick up on the fact that she was trying to retrieve her error with my girlfriend who was having none of it and just kept her face to the wall. As soon as we had been deposited in the lounge and the receptionist had left, my girlfriend, who is no shrinking violet, broke down in tears and told me what had happened. Have to say that the staff in the lounge were brilliant as was the front desk manager who was summoned as well as the general manager who later came to our room, but the insult had already been made. I wanted to leave and drive home but my girlfriend wanted to stay, she didn't want to lose face. Needless to say the rest of the stay, and subsequent stays, were fine and we were well treated - as I think were most people, we were showered with gifts, and we never saw that receptionist again.

I think the point of my post is that it doesn't how high or low end the hotel is, and I am not sure what category the Hard Rock falls into, the image of the hotel is judged by the initial reception at the hotel.

Many people come to Pattaya looking for companionship so it's not unreasonable that you might want to bring a guest back to your room, that guest should be treated with respect as should someone you check in with, though in the case of a new friend security checks probably are needed.

OK, rant over.

  • 8 months later...
cheers guys , plenty to look at there, think it will be the diana or queen vic then :)

Location, Location, Location

If you are looking for the 'girl friendly type hotel' sort of trip then stay around Soi 7 or Soi 8.

You can't go wrong with the Sunshine which is on Soi 8 Beach Road, or Queen Pattaya, which is towards the beach end of Pattaya Klang, both have pools and really good central locations.

Both are available for about 800 baht and are girl friendly. They can be noisy at night because of all the bars around, but i suppose the close proximity of the bars is probably why you are coming.

No WIFI in the Queen Pattaya, but you can pick up signals from tons of bars around the hotel- in fact its hard not to find a WIFI signal around that area.

Have fun!

Never like to see anyone loose their job, but one has to think that she may now freelancing out of necessity, wonder how she will feel when a hotel receptionist say's to her what she said to your girl friend?
