It is great to see an American politician who is not a war-monger and who tries to engage the rest of the world in conversation rather than lecture to it. Surely politicians like him will do a lot for peace around the world, including Thailand. Most American politicians are not "war mongers" – that is way too simplistic - and Obama is quite willing to wage war if necessary - just like the rest of them. I love the guy and hope that his New Age approach works, but it is nice to know that if it doesn't, he is a pragmatist - not a wimpy peacenik - who will do exactly what needs to be done. You repsonded with some a very tangential post about Karl Marx being Jewish (ignoring the fact that his "Jewishness" was actually his ethnic background, not his religion), and now pointing out two other conflicts. He never posted that there were no religiously inspired wars! So you can point out the Crusades, the 30 years War, the Irish "Troubles" and a hundred other conflicts, but that does not refute that not all wars are religious. Hitler was not a war,Stalin and Pol Pot was not a war. So how are any of them wars anyway ? Hitler and WW2, millions of people slaughtered because of their religion. Stalin.....what war are we talking about ? The cold war ? not many died in that war so I guess it is insignificant, all I can think of is the millions he slaughtered but that is not a war is it ? Of course Hitler is not a war. But he was a prime mover in WWII, and yes, I think that was a war. Pol Pot did in fact have a war. It was called a revolution, and his Khmer Rouge forces defeated Lon Nol's government forces. You want to say that Stalin was not involved in a war? One in which 23 million Soviets were killed? OK. Take him out of this equation as he did not invade Germany but merely reacted to being invaded. Garro only needed one example to prove his point. The key banks in the EU which are publicly held or have strong government involvement are structured in such a way as to make the allegation impossible. The last time I looked, China, which holds a large chunk of US debt wasn't dominated by jews, nor were the gulf states. Nor was Japan. And yet these are the major stakeholders in the non domiciled portions of the international banking systems. Last time I looked, major French entities like SocGen and the Mutuelles, were juden free, as were big german financial monoliths like Allianz . One can't argue with those that hold the view since facts and reality do not matter. The delusion is the reality. The sad part about this is that these fools believe in the lies and myths and keep repeating them and then wonder why people treat them as dangerous antisocial lunatics. Modern wars are started over scarce resources; access to energy, water, arable areas. What I see in southern Thailand is a group of non ethnic Thais wanting to reverse the seizure of land by expansionist Thailand. The area was always Malay associated. It would not have to be dragged into this thread if certain people stopped asking people to prove things, I was asked to prove what right of domination the west, Jews or Christians have, I gave one example and just because someone does not agree I have a screw loose, the person making this assumption could not even spell loose ! I was making the point that the most deaths from armed conflict are due to religion ! A few mis quotes later and I am childish and have a screw loose.
