UK Visitor Visa For Mother And Father In Laws

Featured Replies

Has anyone any tips on this subject ,, I plan to pay for their visitor visas and flights next year to visit us for 2 weeks ,, is it possible to get these visas from the UKBA ? I have checked the site but its clear as mud. Mabe someone here has done it from the UKBA ?

I edited the topic title to include that the visas are for the UK.

The visa application will have to go through the UK embassy here.

But the applications are not made at the embasssy they done at a contractors office called VFS.

I sure will get some answers shortly about the visa process.

It has to be done in their host country.

If you require any help we have an office in Thailand, if they are of course Thai nationals.

Your inlaws will have to apply themselves at the VFS centre here http://www.ukvac-th.com/

If you are sponsoring them you/they will need to provide;

The reason for the trip

Their relationship to you/your wife

A basic itinery of their trip. ie. length of stay, proof of where they will be staying, where they will be visiting etc.

Proof of funds to pay for the trip (the money doesn't have to be in their account)

If they work for an employer a letter from them giving the time off work for the trip and confirming the job will still be there when they return.

And, most importantly, their reason to return to Thailand. This could also include proof of any house/land that they own,returning for their job, etc. If they're rice farmers for example don't book the trip during the rice season, book it before then going back to start preparing the land is a 'good reason for return'.

And finally a good sponsors letter explaining everything.

Good luck.
