Fault With Keyboard On My Acer Laptop

Featured Replies

This is possibly a fault that I can't fix, but I am interested to know if anyone else has experienced it.

I have an Acer laptop that is probably a year old. After I bought it someone on this forum highlighted the poor construction of the very flexible keyboard. I am now having a very annoying problem that I think might stem from this poorly made keyboard. As I type the cursor jumps to some random point on the page and I end up typing in the wrong place. Since I am not enough of a proficient typist to be able to look away from the keyboard whilst typing this is a real headache.

Has anyone else experienced this fault? I doubt very much that there is very much that I can do about it other than by very careful when I type.

If it is too much of a problem why not purchase an extra keyboard.

I used to have the same problem with my old Toshiba lap top. The only "cure" I found was to turn of the touch pad; that stopped the cursor jumping. Have you tried googling the issue?

I had the same problem with an HP pavilion laptop but, although it had a touch pad I always used a USB connected mouse. Can one disable the built-in touch pad with this arrangement?

Keep your palms away from the touch pad :)

I had the same and installed the manufactures touch pad drivers. That reduced the problem to -90 %.
