June 18, 200917 yr With the birth of my daughter I decided to move up from a Sony point & press and bought myself a Canon G10. The camera meets all of my needs and has shown me that I can do more than just store take snaps. I am really pleased with it. The problem I have is that I do not fully understand how to use the software that came with it. To make matters worse I can not find any instructions online. Simple things like exporting a handful of photos at a time etc. It must be able to do it, I just do not know how. Could anybody point me towards some instructions? Many Thanks.
June 18, 200917 yr I have a G10 and frankly I also find the Canon software a bit tricky. Here's the Canon download site for the various manuals Hope this helps http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controll...wnloadDetailAct
June 18, 200917 yr The only Canon SW I use is the Zoom Browser for downloading images from the memory cards of my 40D. I like the way it catalogs in folders according to shooting date.
June 20, 200917 yr I have been using Windows Photo Gallery for input and very happy with it as it groups by date and you have option to name groups. If did not have that believe would use Picasa for everything - do use it for all editing/printing functions.
June 21, 200917 yr Author Some options are not available to me as a Mac user and I really would like to get to grips with Canon's own software. I have found what I can use to work well, but without some kind of function guide it takes a lot of time to eventually give up. There must be some instructions somewhere, but I don't know where. Thanks again.

Thanks again. Take a look at Adobe Lightroom - Mac version. I use it and it's fine. Conversely DXO software for Mac which AUTOMATICALLY renders your RAW images accurately in relation to noise, distortion and correcting CA (Chromatic aberration ) Not easy to figure out if you're new to this stuff but worthwhile endeavoring Good luck
June 21, 200917 yr Try Picasa, it's a nice application for managing pictures and it's completely free, you can download it from Internet (it's a Google application). Another good thing is that it's a very small program, no bloatware here. I think the installation file is 6 MB only.
