I'm not sure the RIP label is quite as clear cut as the moderator claims.

Seonai was a constant poster here until suddenly on 2008-04-05 11:25:32 she stops posting or viewing.

Yet at her website (about her catching TB) she is very alive on Aug 2008:

How is she doing? She sounds like she was 'cured' from TB...

she died a few days ago. of tb. there is a thread in ladies.

A funny poster and a very nice man.

Now you are in for it samran. I am sure he won't be happy hearing you insult his reputation in this way :D

he would expect no less from me :)

One of the more entertaining posters on TV, willing to call a spade a spade. Sadly missed.

This link might answer a few questions.

Often if you look in their last few dozen or hundred posts you will find the answers to your own questions, but I would guess the top explanations would be the following:

1. Banned - look for that in their Group listing. It means they went too far too many times with respect to the rules.

2. RIP - also in their Group listing. The obvious.

3. No longer in Thailand for many, many reasons- including work, family, travel, illness, and misc.

4. No longer interested in the forum as a social medium or source of information, again for many reasons.

5. Some people wind up without access to computers or the Internet for lengthy periods of time.

you forgot bored shitless with the same repetitive crap. oh i see number 4 kinda touches on that.

Sometimes those '"members"" are too bored to post on board :D

or they don't have the required visa to access Thaivisa. :)

GOSH! Bendix is here ! :)

Where's Kerryd?

Interesting subject. An online forum is like a bar: the crowd of regulars is changing all the time. Some keep going there for a long time, others only briefly. Some disappear overnight, whilst others slowly fade away.

Where's Kerryd?

Afghanistan I believe

Where's Kerryd?

How come you know where everyone is??

It's kind of creepy... :)

Because she is the one who summons the aliens via her telepathic link to have them transported away to places distant.

I would say, bored or banned ....

anyway I'm off to the Pattaya section asking where I can find the best breakfast in town....should soon morph into 10 pages of hot debate...

dam_n. you gave me away G54. I told you not to tell anyone :D

GOSH! Bendix is here ! :)

Only because I heard my name was being taken in vain.

Nice, my arse. Samran, we need to talk.

Please forgive me for my ignorant.

For a while now. I miss reading posts from:

' njpski'

' ilyashin'

' Chantee'

Tink ( a fan)

Even for myself a relatively new member of thaivisa forums i've noticed that some members who had been here for a long while and recorded a thousand or even thousands of posts just disappeared for some unknown reason. Leaves me wondering "What suddenly happened?".

Can anyone give me the lowdown why and perhaps well-known puzzles of former members in the past who just fled or disappeared one day ....

They comes and they goes ... but mostly, at the end of the day they go.

For the majority of ex-pats, Thailand is a brief part of the/their journey through life - nothing unique about it with respect to ex-pats in Thailand - I would think it applies to ex-pats wherever they are in the world - ultimately most move on.

okay, sorry

i will not mention the mods

but may i please say how nobody who want to be banned stays away- all they simply do, like it or not, is rejoin, that is why nobody has really ever stayed away who has not wanted to

or is that not allowed ?

It is no fun having to change all of your real interests and posting style, but if you don't, they figure you out quickly and just bounce you again. They usually win in the end. :)

She is a woman :D

Being a noob (here) I have that cheeky latitude, until Mario spanks moi, again, of being able to make a couple misteaks and get away

with it - because they realize, as do most reasonable folks, that to err is human. That is what makes a great Forum. This is a great Forum

The guys here cut everyone a huge amount of slack. It takes a pretty mature group to keep the lid on this type of broad-spectrum,

multi-faceted interest group. It is also a nitemare to run & organize. It simple gets done - no muss, no fuss.

I mod on a couple technical forums and belong to several others - we have similar interests and pleasures & I am on the web 24/7

Most of the others (forums) have rather limited intellect & interests which lead to a sorta PG mentality, with hypocritical interpretations,

and values, and a lot of tsorris & flames - all which is egotistical badmouthing, truth be known.

Here there is the odd bit of ribbing, playful windup, and we all get on with it - it is, after all, the sharing of information.

There is a lot of that - excellent advice - y'all saved me schlepping thru BKK for a decent local business lawyer.

Thanks again Webfact. Turns out we were neighbors in MDR, Ca. 90292

I hope I dont get canned for this :):D

Best Regards

Jack Daniels Esq

PS Keep up the good work, men.

Its true though, she seems to have her finger on the pulse of thai visa. Often when I'm a little confused and can't work out where I'm going or where I've been, I just touch base with sbk & she tells me where I'm at. Shes kind of like a GRANDMOTHER of the internet.....only older :)
