Introducing Myself - But Different :)

Featured Replies

I signed up with Thai Visa about 3 (!) years ago. So I thought, now finally it's maybe a good idea to introduce myself and to write the first posting and thread :) Of course I know that there's an introducing thread - but as I make this with a 3 years delay.... :D

Usually I'm from Germany (Munich) and I'm now 40 y. o. I have never been to Asia till March 2006. That time I started living separated from my (now ex)wife. A good friend, who lived that time altready for more than 6 years in Thailand, invited me for some holidays to relax from my separating story. He also said, if I'm interested to live in Thailand - I'm always welcome.

So it happened, that I booked my oneway ticket back to Thailand to live there, when I still was on holiday in Thailand. I lived in the north of Thailand and it took nearly one year, before I came the first tim to Pattaya. But only for a few nights and that is still enough for me :D . After more than one year in Thailand I had enough of Thailand and I decided to go to Cambodia to live there. But once again after 1 1/2 years i had enough from Cambodia (more than enough - still :D ) and i went back to North-Thailand. Here I live now since November last year and I don't have any intentions anymore to leave (Cambodia really showed me how comfortable Thailand is). Anyway - since i left 3 years ago Europe, I never went back there. First i decided to make some holiday in Europe after one year. After one year I told my friends, I'll going to visit them in the next year. And in the second year i decided, maybe to visit Europe within the next 5 years.... maybe... :D

My girlfriend (for me she is my wife, I only did not marry, because I'm to lazy to collect all the documents, the German gouvernment is asking for :D ), she is 33 and Thai, I stay since I live in Thailand, so also 3 years. For sure I also never will have intentions to leave her and for her it is the same. She followed me also to Cambodia and any other places in Thailand, where I lived. We had very bad, but also very good times together. And I can honestly say, I have one of this less Thai/Farang relationships, where it is not about money or other material stuff. She studied and never has seen a bar from inside.

Even when I now - three years after my Thaivisa signup - make my first post: I read a lot in the past and from Thaivisa I had, have and for sure will have a lot of informations and it really helped a lot in the past. And when I started reading here, I was an absolutly Asia noob and now - now i have already quite a lot of Asian experiences, but for sure still a noob in many things :D

So I also want to use this post to say thank you to Thaivisa and its members for all this useful threads and informations, which really helped me a lot in the past.

Cheers :D

Ya welcome
