Required! Native English Teacher For Conversation Program (partime)

I am looking for a part time teacher (native) to help me in improving English conversation. The class runs from 17.30 – 19.30 hrs, Mon – Fri, at my office or coffee café or anywhere around Asoke or Huaykwaeng (in Bangkok). The period of teaching is three months (approximately 120 hours). Payment is 300 Baht per hour and will be made on every Friday of teaching.

The candidate has to present his/her teaching plan for my consideration. My objectives of learning are as follows:

1. able to listen and speak English as well within three months

2. able to communicate in English business with foreigner as appropriate

3. able to think and use English with automatic

Required teacher:

- Male or Female, age 30-45 years old, native

- Graduated bachelor degree

- Having a teaching experience in English Conversation for adult.

- Responsibility, friendly, sincere, positive thinking, non-lookdown, polite

- Able to be a friend though the duration ending

- Reading and writing : usable, listening : fair, speaking : poor (broken structure)

If the teacher can help me to attain the objectives above, there will be a bonus as appropriate (15000 - 30000 Baht). Moreover, I could suggest new learners continually.

300 baht/hour isn't much in Chiang Mai; it's nowhere near enough in BKK with those qualifications. I suggest you make it 500/hour and reduce the bonus. Good luck.

I think the point that is being made is the advert looks more like a personals ad looking for a date instead of a teacher. If she was only looking for a teacher then why would she limit the ages of applicants?

Also the request to become friends is a little strange unless she plans to get free "practice"time.

I don't think loaded was joking. I think he read it as a personals ad like i did. Her qualifications are a little over the top if she is only looking for someone to practice her conversational English with.

Also do you really think anyone can teach her to "think and use english" automatically in only 2 hours a day for 3 months ?

Will you need a Work Permit? If so will you help in getting the work permit? I think one would indeed need a work permit for this. Someone here please advise, OVER to you all

Hundreds, if not thousands, of foreign teachers teach a few privates for a little extra money. This work won't be supported by a relevant work permit in probably 99% of the cases. However, it's very very unlikely there will be a problem.

How blatantly ageist and Napoleonic this advert is. I am 77, more than meet all the teacher qualifications complete with a PhD in linguistics and am teaching English in a Thai school very successfully. ||Is this a thinly disguised "lonely hearts" advert?
