When choosing a doctor, what are the important things to consider? Looking online at various hospitals in Bangkok, most list their educational qualifications, certifications with different boards, fellowships and teaching positions, etc. What is the most important to consider? Thanks! :)

Your list is important, but equally important is that you have confidence in your doctor, he or she answers your questions/concerns effectively and most important attritube.... he or she has the experience !!!, know it sounds stange but your list only relates to academic qualifications only....academic qualification do not a good doctor make....this goes for any profession.

The biggest challange in my opinion with doctors in Thailand is that the average Thai national, accepts and believes everything a doctor says without question, whereas a farang will question and possible "argue" with the doctor....Some doctors in Thailand can handle this very well...others cant

Generally a Thai doctor who has studied/worked overseas, is more used to the "Farang" way...
