OK here we go....RANT about the Trolls

This is the first forum I have ever read or joined so it's all new to me.

Never had the time before but found myself needing advice for a personal problem I had or still have. I think TV is a brilliant website and has many many helpful members all willing to give you their time and knowledge about many things, not only Thailand but anything that is allowed on TV. Yeah you have the incognito dickheads who just want to slag people off but where can you go and not find them. Spent hours reading with interest many of the posts and learned a hel_l off allot from them.

Realizing that whatever is said in this thread it will not make any difference whatsoever and the sad sh@t Troll threads will still keep getting posted and members will still respond, even when the OP was written by someone who's last Post was total BS, but why? I understand That TV readers are worldwide, English is not everybody's first language and they can't see it for what it is.

So <deleted> is going on why do we have them? I know some are going to say it makes TV more interesting, bollo@ks, get a life, if I want to read stories like that I'll go and buy a book or a comic, don't want to spend hours reading something only to realize it's all BS

Last night was funny, the post Trying To Rebuild Your Life In Thailand was full of Trolls like they were trying to give the Troll OP credibility, read it and you know who they are

I know I am not the only one reading this cr@p and noticing the same style of writing and format. I've noticed the seasoned members of TV stay away from these posts.

Jingthing along with others comes to mind, he normally has something to say about everything but rarely responds to this cr@p. no disrespect meant there Jingthing :)

So why do they do it? are they lonely and need attention, are they using TV to improve their English. are they up and coming novelists who need to improve their imagination skills, are they just entertainers, maybe even law students or are they being paid by someone, maybe sponsors, to keep TV full of Cr@p fabricated stories and to keep TV busy with visitors and members reading the ads.

And before the 'Your Trolling about Trolls' brigade chime in, Yeah alright! This is to be expected because these are the people that respond to these idiots.

Anyway RANT over I'm now off to spend time with my daughter who I have neglected a little bit over this sh@t.

And if this post doesn't get me banned I will still be looking out for the Troll posts and adding my bit, with just a hint of sarcasm.

I think I must be your biggest Fan!

Speaking of format, a more conventional font would be easier to read.

Done...Sorry

:)

Thank you for feeding me :D

Never understood the troll bit ? Just who is to say a poster is a troll. There was a post about teaching and wages. In my opinion the guy was asking in a bit of a light way about it. It was immediately closed as a troll. <deleted> ? The easy way to stop them is ignore them or just play with them. I can't see any point at all in getting worked up over some sad tosser :)

can someone enlighten me: what is a troll?

I think it's someone who posts deliberately antagonistic or provocative stuff just to get people wound up.

A "troll" could be a banned member returning in disguise as new member... looking for vengeance and disturbance. This is just MY thought!

I am seeing a contradiction here. First you complain about members replying to trolls, then you say that you will continue to look out for the troll posts and “add your bit”, which I understand to mean replying to them.

I only have to say this to all members who read this, a quote from the forum rules:

Any user who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to contact us immediately via the report function. We do have the ability to remove objectionable messages and will make every effort to do so if we determine that removal is necessary. This is a manual process so please realize we may not be able to remove or edit particular messages immediately. Responding to objectionable messages is discouraged.

This applies also to troll posts. Please, never reply to a post you suspect of being a troll post, not even to shout “Troll”. Do not feed the trolls. The best way to make a troll feel miserable and go back and hide under his bridge is to ignore him completely, absolutely, totally.

With this message, the subject is fully covered as far as I can see and is now closed, more so since the OP has been told exactly the same thing already by PM, making me wonder if he might be a part-time troll himself.

:)
