July 16, 200916 yr I know there is a health forum but I wanted to reach the highest number of members. I did a search but found no threads regarding my inquiry. I have a good friend who comes and stays in this region of the world quite often, who will be in need of a lot of dental work in the near future. He loves staying both in Thailand and India for months. We are trying to determine which country would be best for excellent and reliable dental work. If the countries were somewhat equal in quality, then which one would cost the least? edit: grammar Edited July 16, 200916 yr by vagabond48

Actually, I am looking for people that are willing to share their personal experience or 2nd hand information they may know of. No offense taken.
July 16, 200916 yr I dont know about dental, but BH is probably one of the best hospital in this region. Try calling them for quote. They got great docs, great facilities, but they are not cheap, tho.
July 16, 200916 yr I had a problem with a tooth abscess while in Goa some years ago. Dentist there recommended antibiotics which I took for 2 weeks, these failed to help so they gave me a different batch. Well the infection spread into my neck and eventually needed to go to hospital and have an op to clear up the problem. Costs in India for any medical care were super cheap although probably risen in recent years. Still much cheaper than Thailand. I have a dental checkup done every year in Thailand. Better treatment and much cheaper than at home. I would'nt go near a dentist in India no matter the cost.

July 16, 200916 yr This is a somewhat silly thread. Without details of exactly what work is required, it is a "how long is a piece of string?" thread. One dentist may choose to use crowns whilst filing down perfectly good teeth, another by using implants, thus saving useful teeth. One might cost more than another, which would you choose? Don't choose a dentist because he or she is cheap. Better to have a thread detailing the work needed and ask for specific experiences. Otherwise you will just get useless suggestions to a obtuse question.
July 16, 200916 yr Vietnam is the place to go for complicated dental work. All first class work using only the best and most up to date materials. So far 19 of my family and friends have been over there for extensive dental work, all are extremely happy with the results and it is half the price of similar work done in Thailand and the work is far superior. Anyone would like to know the contact details of this dentist just PM me.
July 20, 200916 yr India would be about 1/2 the price of Thailand. The work would be of excellent quality but, as always do your homework to find a well rated dentist. You can compare cost by different types of treatment from country to country here: http://www.treatmentabroad.net/cost/dentistry-abroad-cost/ Edited July 20, 200916 yr by Lancashirelad
July 21, 200916 yr Agree on Vietnam. Quality is very good, yet very cheap. Had 6 crowns, cleaning, and whitening for $500.
July 21, 200916 yr I spent about 250,000THB getting 13 veneers a bridge and a further 3 crowns done, plus a few fillings at Thong Lor dental practice...not cheapest by any means, but after 2 years, I am very pleased with the quality of work and the service (they always sent a driver to my hotel to pick me up for my appointment and were happy to accomodate last minute changes to appointments).
July 21, 200916 yr I have the best dentist in the world - in Pattaya!! Bubba edit Dont touch India - long ways to fly for any 'warranty' work. Edited July 21, 200916 yr by verydumbubba
