My wife just informed me it is traditional that Thai's will bang on pots, pans and anything that will make a noise when an eclipse occurs.

She said it's amazing to see, basically they will all start banging away untill the eclipse is over!

They believe the noise will shoo away bad luck.

My GF just confirms,somebody even pull out the gun and shoots(in the air)BTW,from Thai news online,some seismologyst,have predicted a earthquake in the same day.

An earthquake where? There will be lots of earthquakes that day.

If a big earthquake does occur in Thailand, I guess that will mean we didn't beat our pots and pans hard enough, and didn't shoot our guns at the eclipse enough. (I'm kidding of course, but I'm sure this what the majority of Thais will believe.)

Err,sorry,Kanchanaburi area.Actually they can predict earthquakes just monitoring radom(gas) emissions from earth,but it's not easy of course to guess the exact date and the strenght of the earthquake.Anyway,is well known that Kanch is a seismic area.
