I'm 57 years of age, British and have a 90 day 'O' Visa.

I now want to apply for a 1 year marraige Visa.

A. What documents must I take along to the immigration with me? ( I have

letter from the Embassy).

Please list all the document I will require.

B We have a joint account with a good bit more than the required amount of

400,000 Baht.

C. Must this amount be in my own name or will the joint account be accepted?

D. When I apply can I apply at any immigration office or does it have to be the

nearest to me?

Thanks in advance.

a. First you fill out form TM.7 for extension of stay during the last 30 days of your current entry at a fee of 1,900 baht.

Most important items is your wife - she must be with you to answer questions and sign forms.

You do not need any letter from Embassy for marriage extension but if this is a pension type confirmation it will be welcome to prove your annual income for form that they fill out.

Letter from bank addressed to immigration giving your account balance. Normal cost 200 baht and branch manager should be able to sign it. If not may take 24 hours or more to get from head office.

Your passport and copies (2 or more each if outside of Bangkok).

TM.6 and copies. (entry card)

Your marriage certificate and copies

Your bankbook and copies

Transfer paperwork may be needed to show foreign source of funds if not employed here with work permit and these can also be obtained from bank branch.

Photos of you together at home are usually also requested.

Her id card and copies.

Her home register and copies.

If you have child birth certificate and copies.

b. Good.

c. Joint account is fine as long as with your wife.

d. It should be the one nearest you as you will be doing this routine every year and also have to report your address every 90 days. Also they must confirm you are indeed living together and supporting your wife so that is easier done at a local office.
