There are plenty of unmissable sights in Thailand and see them all would take a long time. My favourite places on my last visit were Pia in the north and the lake in Khao Sok National Park near Surat Thani. Some of my best days were just getting on a motobike and seeing where I ended. Anthong national marine park near Koh Samui/Tao/Pha-ngan was pretty spectacular even in the poor weather conditions that we had!

Nope, lucky dip i'm afraid with regards the Tuk Tuk's.

Best way to travel any distance, in BKK, is by metered taxi (make sure the driver puts the meter on, and get out if he doesn't), or try the skytrain (BTS) or tube if available, save the Tuk Tuk's for short hops 20-40B, try and establish a fare before you depart.
