Police Check For A Thai

Featured Replies

My husband is Thai and needs to get a police check. Does anyone have any experience of this and how to go about it?

For what purpose?

If he want a criminal record clearance document for gun buying license application. Please tell him to visit his local police station. It should cost few bahts or nothing. I had applied but didn't have to contact the station. As a gov officer I have direct recommendation letter from the agency for this purpose.

This link provides information on how to obtain a police clearance certificate in Thailand.

If it's for a visa in your home country, he'll need to get certified fingerprints from your police, a copy of his Thai National ID, and send them off to the Police Clearance Service Centre, Bld 24 Rama 1 Rd, Pathumwan, Bangkok 10330.

I just did this yesterday, (so I happened to have that address in my pocket!) for the second time as my country's (NZ) rules are that the police cert has to be less than 3 month old, even if the Thai person has been living abroad all the time.

There is a website in Thai script for this info....get your hubby to do a google search in Thai.
