Jomtien Beach Gets Much Needed Facelift

Pattaya City Deputy Mayor, Khun Ronnakit Ekkasing, was recently joined by Pattaya

Council Member, Khun Amnuay Somphongtham, and together with a team from the Pattaya City Hall, they paid a surprise visit to the Jomtien Beach area to inspect local cleanliness.

They began their visit by talking to local vendors about the importance of ensuring all their garbage is disposed of in the bins provided, and to not, or allow their customers, to throw their rubbish onto the beach.

The team then got stuck into some good old fashioned hard work, with the beach being swept and cleared of all the garbage that had accumulated over time.

The team discussed and have implemented a new schedule for the collection of garbage on a more regular basis, to help provide a more inviting environment for the tourists. They wish to encourage the local residents to take a pride in their beautiful surroundings.

The working team also spent time pruning the trees along the promenade area, that will allow everyone a better view of the ocean and beach area, but also, eliminate the branches covering the street lights, which are an advantage to the less scrupulous who enjoy a life of crime. Unfortunately most of the 45 CCTV cameras that are installed along the promenade have become overgrown with branches and are neither use nor ornament to anyone. It is hoped that with the extra lighting and working CCTV cameras, robbers will think twice about breaking the law in this area.

This new endeavour will be taken very seriously and it is believed it will vastly improve the beauty of the area and also create a much safer environment, free of crime.
