Sausage Making Kit

Featured Replies

On the back of my new project to make my own bread I would also like to make my own sausages...

I need to find a mincer that has the device on the outlet which feeds the minced ingredients into the collagen, does anybody know how much I'll pay for this equipment? I only want a manual one so I'm hoping it'll be cheap considering there are lots of street sellers selling Isaan sausage...maybe I'll ask one of them :) but I just wanted to find out from tv.com first

Thanks in advance for any suggestions

$1000?? For a mincer? Hope not! I don't know about collagen casing in thailand, I reckon you could get them for a higher price, the normal Thai sausage sellers on the street use pigs intestines I'm quite sure, alternatively you could order them from overseas...

Bought mine in Bangkok on wireless road, electric mincer with sausage making attachment, big electrical store not far from the American embassy. I paid about 4000 baht.

Thanks for the info geordie, do you think that because you bought your mincer from an expensive area in bkk you actually paid more than, say, 7km outside bkk? Hope so! :) B4000 sounds a lot, what brand is it?

And are the skins collagen or pigs bits?

Small intestines. You have to clean it yourself before using it.

Maidong the make of mine is Severin, i know that they are a little pricey. I use mine more for mincing and it works great, they are also very easy to clean.

I am sure that the Makro skins are pigs, they come in a frozen pack and you only have to soak them in water because they pack them with a lot of salt.
