Help Needed In Tracing Friend

Featured Replies

I'm hoping someone may be able to help me, probably by Thai contacts in Nakua and/or Sa Kaeo.

I was regularly in contact with a friend, whom I had arranged to meet again when I visit in April. However, after her visit (as she said a month ago for a week) to her family in a village, about 7-8 km west of Wang Nam Yen, 30 km south of Sa Kaeo, our frequent exchange of emails ceased. There is also no answer from her mobile. I'm keeping on trying both.

She was staying in a hostel in Soi 31, Pattaya-Nakua Road, after having been in a hostel until about 3 months ago near the south end of Soi 22, Sukhumvit, Bangkok. As a result of this recent move, I now have no other potential contacts.

There are the obvious explanations, besides an accident, and others not so obvious, which I can explain to anyone who may be able to help in return for a drink (or more) or a meal when I visit.

Is this the correct forum, or can another forum be suggested? I do not mind if this is diverted to a more suitable forum.

Many thanks.

This was bound to happen. A few minutes after posting I actually got a reply on her mobile!! Sod's law or what? But I'm a happy bunny now, as she's going to the local internet cafe tomorrow. I hope it's not full of schoolkids playing latest games, as when I was there and could not check my emails.

her English is not good, so I did not get an answer as to whether her mom and child are well. It's now an unusually long time she's been at home, and there must be a reason for that.

I quote from forum rules:

Any user who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to contact us immediately by email. (I'm thinking about it, but it's not my problem really).

you will not use this bulletin board to post any material which is ......, abusive,

No flaming of fellow members!

Flaming' is best defined as posting or responding to a message....... for launching personal attacks, insulting, being hateful, useless criticism, name calling,

in the past. I've more often been patronised than the target of such silly attacks. Well it's a new experience. I shall not respond further on the thread, but ask for removal if considered necessary, which seems as if it will be far saner response!

Thread closed, please see our forum guidelines.
