I,ve flown jetstar SYD - HKT (Phuket) qiute a few times now. there are no meals , unless u pay for them when booking, jetstar has no tv screens on back of seat, just a screen on ceiling & back of wall half way down plane, it is very limited just wat u can watch, if u prepay u can get a little mini dvd player with many different movies & tv shows etc.

but for 9 hrs , i dont bother with food & dvd , it keeps the price down,

Yes and I refuse to travel P_rn Star with my family EVER again.

The worst 2 International flights I have ever had were both with JetStar. If you want to check the service level of an Airline check out their complaints department before you book a ticket.

JetStar is based in Melb and have their offices in the CBD apparently. Search online, yellowpages or whatever but you will not find their phone number or a street address to lodge a complaint. It is the opposite for Qantas, a major stakeholder in JetStar, as you will find the phone number and street address freely available and serviced.

I am sure the JetStar are fully aware that their service is so very poor that they must hide behind a PO Box based complaints section.

Cheap price only goes so far.

The one time I flew with Jetstar (from HCMC to Hanoi, Vietnam) I tried to check in to find my booking had completely disappeared from the system.

The staff at the check-in desk and the booking office just left me to wait for about 2 hours, as they had no idea what to do and nobody could really speak English. However, they did tell me the plane was fully booked.

Luckily I had a Vietnamese friend waiting for me in Hanoi, who called them - they then escorted me and my luggage straight onto the plane (without passing customs and definitely without collecting $200!). I was a ticket for seat 1A on a largely empty plane :) . Can't say I'd recommend them.

I have flown Jetstar four times with a stopover in Singapore each time.Never had a problem with them but don,t expect any frills as they are a budget airline.I have booked with them to fly to Oz again in December as i have been happy with them so far.

Personally I used them when in Vietnam. :D:D

Well if you can put up with delays etc then go for it ..

VERY bad reviews from the NZ folk ...but then again wherever they fly from ... or to,they seem to always get very bad reviews

But.. in the end it's entirely up to you, remember you get what you pay for :D:):D:D

Hi mate..yes I do now regularly..same route..very good service for budget airline..free water too..but pay for meals and or snacks..as you say for the flight of -9hrs not really needed but there if you want it. Seats are comfortable etc. I got my last retrun fare with currency conversion worked out at AU$591..how about that ! Should you want to go onto Sydney and BNE you pay a minimal amount but have about 2hr wait each leg in Aus. You can change your flight by on-line @ AU$50 fee or call centre in BKK for AU$70. Hope this assists.

I have flown Jetstar on many occasions from Sydney to Phuket and on the return flight from Phuket Sydney and had absolutely no problems.

For the same fare as you would pay (or thereabouts) on a Thai flight, you can get the " Star Class" seats which are equivalent to business class........ large comfortable seats, meals provided, along with in-flight entertainment, and great service.

I haven't flown any other "class" with them, however all of the flights have been fairly full on every occasion I have travelled with them (10 times perhaps?). So they can't be too bad.

I have never flown internationally with them, but I have from Sydney to Hamilton Island. While I am not a fan, I can honestly say I can't complain.

I have a mate that swears by them. He always books the cheapest fare possible, and then goes to the check-in and buys an upgrade to their Starclass with is supposed to be their Business class version. He reckons its cheap and good.

Travelled Jetstar the last three return trips Melbourne to Bangkok. Only one minor issue was when I booked a Lite fare (no checked luggage) and a week before I left received a call telling me I had been upgraded for free and could check in a bag. I assumed that meant both ways but when I went to check in my bag for the return flight, I was told I couldn't. Fortunately my bag was light enough to be taken as carry-on and they overlooked the fact that it was slightly over-sized.

Will continue to use them.

Eureka, that's the way of low cost carriers. They don't want to know you, book and pay online, turn up at the airport and travel. Not happy with something?? Don't tell us because we don't give a $hit.

I travel a lot with Jetstar, and find them quite good for a LCC, and the price is very good, comparatively.

Australian pilots, good training, so that's a big plus in my opinion, and that's my opinion as a retired airline pilot.

JETSTAR.

Never in NEW ZEALAND.

Did MELBS _ BRISSIE once, was ok, no probs.

Neva touch them in NZ.

Mind you, they do have backup.

Thai ground staff are extremely rude in both Thai and English and used words that were highly disrespectful.

Thai "waitress" was suffering from sever PMT as was the reason given by her workmate.

Paid for ONE meal package, for my daughter, but all hel_l broke loose when my pregnant wife asked to share a little of a drink. By the way only a single can of coke was ordered and not multiples as is allowed.

This was on the Oz-Thai leg and we had beverages out of my wife's immediate reach.

The tirad coming from the Thai "waitress" was only calmed when I released a barrage of Thai obsenities back at her. My swearing was harsher than her's.

You do have to pity those thai workers on Jetstar - being paid a fraction of the 'white' staff working around them.

Jetstar Intl - my opinion is : use only when absolutely necessary

Flew with them this week Melb/B'kok- no problems at all, nor on previous flights (Syd/HCM, Sing/Siem Riep)...haven't checked the figures, but their seats seem to have more room than the last Qantas International flight I had (Joburg/Syd)

Dorta just back in NZ from OZ.

She flew JETSTAR.

A/C was down low and quite cool, she requested a blanket.

"Noway," said Aussie hostess, "We only issue blankets on international flights, this is NOT international."

"I beg your pardon ," says dorta, "this is international"

"No, only Gold Coast to Darwin, Perth and Melbourne." says hostess.

Beware of OZ airlines.

For blankets, you need to pay extra, just like for meals and entertainment.

Blanket no prob.

Do Ockors know what is international, Perth???? Darwin????????

Get real, Auckland to GC is international, not what she said..........<deleted>
