Maxnet Vs. True Hispeed

Featured Replies

Have had it with True Hi-speed and its horrible service and slow load times, Google and Yahoo takes anywhere between 2-5 mins to load on a 2 mbps service, and has been like this for the past 2 months. Thinking about switching to Maxnet anyone that currently used it have any pros and cons?

Does Maxnet block sites such as bittorrents? How good are live video feeds ect....?

Thanks for any input!

Maxnet- a lovely company that is a few clowns short of a circus.

To describe their current performance - All foam, no beer.

Try it at your own risk.

:)

I get truly excellent service from Premier Maxnet. Was downloading at 1.7mb/s until last week when it jumped to 2.5mb/s and has stayed there. That's testing the speed to Europe and US. I just watched a streaming TV programme full screen on my 32 inch wide flat screen at much better quality than UBC for one hour without stopping to buffer once.

I've heard all the bad stories, but I have no complaints. And I get 99.9% uptime. Maybe I'm just one of the lucky ones.

I switched from Maxnet to True high speed (8Mbs) and the first day was excellent. The first week was going good also to my own country (the Netherlands) but now after 2/3 weeks is it as poor like it was before with Maxnet. So my advise is not to switch because you are absolutely not getting a better connection. All the internet connections in Thailand are very bad. I had before Maxnet TOT internet. Also so bad. Only the first weeks where going good but after that period........................ sorry. Looks like fraud. MAxnet I have had over one year and they promised every time that they should fix it. But after more then one year they said that they good not fix it because the lines where to bad. So I give them 3500 baht to fix the lines and after that they say sorry but we cant fix it. It will stay slow because the distance from your home to the main connection is to long. So gone my 3500 baht (no return of course) and then switched to True internet. So now I have the third bad experience and will not switch anymore and of course I am very disappointed. But this is Thailand............................... of course. The beautiful country and the land of smiles. :-)

I am in Chiang Mai where True offers Cable internet which is very good. For 590b/month, I get a genuine 3mb/512mb connection that is totally dependable, no down time (at my 'office'). Unfortunately it is not available at my house though. Here in CM, True is just starting to offer ADSL and it "should" soon be available where my house is. I am thinking that because its a new service in CM, hopefully it will be better than any other ADSL. I only hear bad things about TT&T and TOT. Obviously it won't be over-crowded and the equipment should be new so hopefully it will be good. Has anyone tried True ADSL yet in Chiang Mai?

I also sacked TRUE and went to KSC. Although a part of the TRUE group, they assure me their service and product are both better. So far (early days - 1 week) so good.

I got the month-by-month service - about 1500 for 2Mb but I do get close to 2Mb as opposed to TRUE 4Mb that was usually slower than my edge phone. I think the contention ratio is the problem with TRUE. Too many snackers, not enough chocolates.
