I have lost both of my five year driving licenses as a result of a pick pocket whilst on the beach a couple of days ago in Pattaya.

Please can someone advise me what documents I need apart from the police report in order to obtain replacements?

Any chance you have a photo copy of your license? I've never had to replace mine but was told that I should keep a copy of my drivers license and then if I ever lost it all I'd have to do is take it back to the place that issued my license, show the copy to them and tell them I'd lost it and they'd be able to look it up and reissue it.

Unfortunately I didn't take copies. I am assuming that they will find my details using my passport number.

It happened to me, but I always kept a copy of my licence. The copy, and the original of the police report had a new one issued within an hour. You might get lucky with just a copy of the police report. If not they will certainly tell you what they need. No good speculating, it needs a trip to the Dept of Lands & Transport either way.

You should visit the Department of Land & Transport and speak to them.

Or just go to Khao San and buy a new one....

I made a post a few days ago asking for advice on what to do to replace my stolen driving licenses.

The response was disappointing however I now have the answer having done the necessary today and I thought it might be useful for others who find themselves in the same position as I did.

The requirements are simply:

1. Police report (obviously).

2. Photocopies of passport title page, visa page AND entry stamp plus departure card if you are holding tourist or non immigrant "O" visas OR receipt of notification if you are holding retirement or marriage visas.

3. The fee payable for each license is 205 Baht.

I arrived at 1 p.m. (just as lunch time was finishing) as the mornings are when everyone turns up early and is always busy. There was a lady at the entrance doorway who gave me two forms (one for each license). As soon as I had completed these I went back to her and she gave me a queuing number. I went upstairs (which was chock-a-block from the morning rush) and I was walking out with two new licenses 45 minutes later.

I hope this helps someone.

My licence was also stolen. I had a police report but had forgotten to add the licence when I made the statement. When I went to the office I had a copy of my passport and work permit. Then replaced the licence for 205 baht. No problems which made a refreshing change.
