Pheu Thai Blows Whistle On Silent Coup Plot

BANGKOK: -- Three top leaders in security affairs are conspiring with a powerful politican to plot a silent coup by using the Monday's pardon petition as a springboard to grab power, Pheu Thai Party spokesman Prompong Nopparit said on Friday.

"The prime minister should closely monitor these individuals and take preemptive action," Prompong said.

He reminded Abhisit Vejjajiva not to overlook the attempt to oust him from within the coalition alliance.

He said the plotting took place outside the country, alluding the trip to Singapore by the Thai defence delegation.

Fun life. I wish I could play.

Not very silent if he knew about it...

Driving wedges and suspicions into the opposition, attempting to put them in a back foot,

prior to the other side readying THEIR OWN not so silent coup.

But so stupidly obvious I doubt they are much worried.

Wheels within wheels, smoke and mirrors. Matters are nowhere near stabilised and such machinations, real or imaginary, only underscore the enduring fragility of the political system.

Lots of court cases coming up if a little constitutional crisis is expected.

One problem may be that the military is probably divided.

And probably factions are hoping not to be Drawn and Quartered in December.
