I already have cc cleaner installed???? what will unticking yahoo toolbar do? I dont see it on windows or applications
August 24, 200916 yr It means that you won't install the Toolbar together with the application. If you already have it installed, did you install the Toolbar and where is it now? (Will normally be stuck to Internet Explorer) Other results?
August 24, 200916 yr sounds more like a codec problem. try uninstalling any codec pack you may have installed and reinstall them. search for CCCP codec on google. that one used to be ok.
August 25, 200916 yr Author @jiu- jitsu Have ran skybot & malwarebytes and no problems, dont use IE only firefox also noted that normal scrolling is getting jerky!!!!any ideas anyone? @bangla, I dont understand how codec works and how to remove or add sorry but bit of an idiot when it comes to computers
August 25, 200916 yr Take a look at your task manager processes and see if something is using a lot of computer power. As you say loading is long and courser is bad it would seem more than a codec problem. Although I find VLC or GOM much better media players. Win is good for logging but VLC or GOM play everything much better. Edited August 25, 200916 yr by lopburi3

August 25, 200916 yr Go here, should fix any problems with the new Vista Codex Packhttp://www.softpedia.com/get/Multimedia/Vi...c-Package.shtml done that and still no difference! any other ideas??? Your most likely problem is your graphics drivers. Reinstall your drivers and that should fix the problem it's nothing to do with codecs. Also as stated before vlc is much better than win media.
August 25, 200916 yr Author its getting worse and also now applications/windows etc are slow to run or say 'not responding 'must be a virus????
August 25, 200916 yr its getting worse and also now applications/windows etc are slow to run or say 'not responding 'must be a virus???? Just to be on the safe side run house call online virus scan.
August 25, 200916 yr its getting worse and also now applications/windows etc are slow to run or say 'not responding 'must be a virus???? Just to be on the safe side run house call online virus scan. That also is a problem when your graphics drivers become corrupt.(not responding) But do the virus check anyway to be safe. When first used housecall takes a while to do it's job.
August 25, 200916 yr Go here, should fix any problems with the new Vista Codex Packhttp://www.softpedia.com/get/Multimedia/Vi...c-Package.shtml done that and still no difference! any other ideas??? google it Media Player Classic - Homecinema with K-Lite Codec Pac it also plays most movie files that windows media player normaly refuse to work with
August 26, 200916 yr Author Just to be on the safe side run house call online virus scan. tried that, but get this message when trying to download house call online virus scan. An error occurred while trying to transfer data from the Internet! Do you want Trend Micro HouseCall to try resending the required files? when I try, it still keeps coming up cyb, how do I reload graphics driver??
August 26, 200916 yr This is most likely the best thing giving you a link rather than explaining it all. http://www.playtool.com/pages/installgraphics/install.html But before you do that, Can you tell me what happens when you try to scan with your installed antivirus program? Is it a similar problem to housecall? be back in a short while breakfast is ready.
August 26, 200916 yr Have you run task manager to check CPU usage? If something is using all your power nothing is going to help until it is stopped. If the CPU usage is high - should be almost zero with no activity - check the process and see which is using a high percentage - that is likely something in a loop/not responding and will need to be stopped and reason found if continues.

Lopburi thats why i asked about his installed antivirus. A friend of mine had a similar problem and non of the virus checkers would run completely. In the end it was a virus, For the life of me i cannot remember the name but it was hard to get rid of. We thought then it was the graphics card drivers as it was the previous time he had the same problem about ayear ago.

Thanks for all your help so far guys
August 26, 200916 yr You run task manager by right click on open area of toolbar and on the menu select start task manager. There are tabs on it that you can open and view items - first is the programs running, then the processes running (third column of that is important as it shows want percent of CPU usage it is using). Performance is a graphic of memory and cpu usage. You can minimize program to display the CPU usage in your task bar and if high usage when you having trouble you want to check what process is causing it and Google or ask here if you do not know what the process is used for.
August 26, 200916 yr Author thanks lopburi applications- downloads and replying in windows media player both running processes -79 cpu usage between 17-34% physical memory 52% does that tell you anything?
August 26, 200916 yr CPU usage seems high for basically idle conditions but others are more knowledgeable than I on computers. Do you have a number of tabs open in browser. Sometimes they have flash or other display going that eats up cpu power. I would close one by one and see if total usage goes down. Another thing would be to pause you antivirus to see if that has any effect. Is there anything on the processes page with high activity (most will be zero)? My anti virus does not display on that page so only way to check is to pause it.
August 26, 200916 yr Sounds like a power supply issue, I had almost the same problem on my one computer. Started getting sluggish and nothing would help. Upgraded the power supply and it works like a charm. It could even be the wall plug that it is plugged in, are you using a UPS?
August 26, 200916 yr Author its not a power supply issue but like your thinking! I have had enough now, this is doing my head in, so I am going to get vista reloaded back on tomorrow. I would just like to say thanks guys for your help and suggestions, hopefully tomorrow afternoon I will be back to been a happy bunny.
