Hi,

I'm an Indian planning to visit Thailand for first time in Oct end.

What I wanted to know was if I intend to stay from 30 Oct to 12 Nov which is 14 days can I get on entry visa?

What is teh procedure for the same & how much will it cost?

Indian citizens are presently entitled to a 15 day visa on arrival, provided they have an outbound return ticket.

See http://www.thaivisa.com/479.0.html

Typically, your airline will provide you with a small arrival/departure card (called a "TM Card" because its serial number starts with the letters TM) to fill out right before arrival.  You present this to the immigration counter, along with your passport and outbound ticket.

Enjoy your stay!

Indo-Siam,

I do not think it is as simple as that!

In the Immigration Area there is a place for appying for Visa on Arrival - it is well signposted.

An Application has to be Completed - and Passport size Photos

(not sure if one or two are required).

After being given the Visa then you go to the Immigration

Officer for your arrival stamp.

That was the proceedure last year - unless it has changed.

You can apply for a 2 month Tourist Visa

at the Thai Embassy in New Dehli

or Consulate in Bombay.

Many Travel Agents can arrange this for you

(they use Courier Service).

But if your visit is for 15 days or less - then

the Visa on Arrival should be OK.

Two photographs, and the fee used to be 300 baht, but with the recent rises, that may have risen. Your airline will know. Interestingly, Indians are the only one's in the subcontinent area that can get a visa on arrival.

Indo-Siam,

Perhaps you should stop giving advice on visa and legal matters when you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about and could create serious problems for people who might be foolish enough to rely on your advice?

dropout....

Indo-Siam is only trying to help, you don't have to be curt.

You could check with the Thai embassy in your country, right. :o

chuang,

normally i would agree with you but he is a know it all that holds himself out as an expert in visa and legal matters.  you need to look at a few of this guy's self-righteous posts on other threads to see what im talking about. ???

PP,

Its a two way street.  Indo-Siam has done an extreme amount of name calling, moralizing etc. in his threads and, in my opinion, he should be called to task. Please don't let your editorial slant bias your judgment when it comes to censoring what is appropriate on the board.  I feel you have already done this in the past.  I ask you to look at IS's post as well as your own and see the type of insulting names and characterizations that have been hurled around.

Hi Dropout -

Your comments have been noted, and I will give them the level of consideration that I feel appropriate to your situation.

Please don't be offensive dropout. This is a forum.

Ask your airline what the fee is. Trust me. they won't carry you unless you know the arrangements. Two photo's and pay whatever the fee is since the August 26 fee alterations. You can get a visa in India

1,000 Baht and a couple of photos. You might have to show 10,000 Baht in avaailable cash or a credit card. Confirmed return ticket back home within 15 days is a must!
