Non Immigrant Investment Visa And Visa Runs

Featured Replies

Hi, I read on this site http://www.legalthailand.com/nonim_faq.html

Im not considering using their services just reading different sources of info but the one part caught my eye

Suppose you already got a Non-Immigrant Visa (i.e. Business Visa) and suppose you are already in Thailand for 65 days, so now what to do? The Immigration Bureau of Thailand stated that "if the holder of non-immigrant Visa notice the Immigration Bureau of Thailand in approximately every 90 days (before his/her first 90 days expires), the Immigraion Bureau will allow non-immigrant visa holder to stay in Thailand for another 90 days without exit and re-enter Thailand!"

Is this true or is the company just spouting some sales pitch? If I invested the 3Mil in one of the approved entities would I be able to avoid visa runs if I notify the Immigration Bureau? They go on to say you need not ever do a visa run if you keep notifying them and just re apply for the visa when it expires. Not wishing to work in Thailand, too young for retirement and not supporting anyone, the investment visa seems my only option for longer term stays.

Thanks.

Try this - go to immigration and ask - if it does not work for you it will be a pretty good bet it is not legal and if so the customer could be the one that takes the fall using this service.
