August 27, 200916 yr Mosha, they range the gamut from cheap to ridiculously expensive. But it might very well have been the same model. When I was looking, SE-EDs books had one on offer for ฿27,000 - same one down the street for 21k. Ended up buying mine in the States for a whole lot less than here.

There are almost 100 of Garmin models, for such a big price difference there has to be something in it. Even for the same model, the more expensive place would pack in a SSD memory card and a mobile TV card for example or a voucher for an extra country map (separately sold = 150US$).

BTW, Garmin in Japan is regarded as unbelivable, shockingly, poor junk. The customers are foireigners and Japanese who whatever reason did not get an in-dash navigation system. Those are 1,500-2,000US$ and youi never hear "garmin" name nowhere near them.
