1. Yes.

2. Immigration (200 Baht) or your Embassy (1,000+ Baht)

3. Just an affidavit.

4. No

5. Go one day after it expires.

6. April 8 would be fine.

You just tell the Embassy your address in Thailand, and they issue the document. Not a big deal, but the document must be in Thai language.

If you go the Immigration route they might want to see house registration and ID card from the Thai house owner.

Ummmm. I've got the affidavit from the US embassy in front of me and it is all in English. No Thai language.

From my own experience I agree with Crossy above. When my first (1 Year) Thai license expired I went with my wife (because all the forms are in Thai) with 2 photos, passport plus copies of the photo and visa pages (you must not have a visitor's visa. I have a non-immigrant 'O' ) , the expired license and the fee which is something like 505 baht. Painless. Went back the same afternoon to collect it.

I recently replaced my license to reflect my new address and passport number. This did need a letter from immigration because of the change of address but as I have been here nearly four years and have faithfully reported every 90 days then immigration didn't require a letter from the police confirming my address. Again, old license, passport etc plus a replacement fee of 55 baht. The old license is returned with holes punched thrpough it to invalidate it.

Ok, I was there 2 weeks ago, Only had my D/L, photo's and my passport.

Took about 15 minutes.

I did have a visa problem, but it was easy. My wife sorted all of that. I can't speak Thai that fast.
