Dual Hdd On Laptops

G'day,

Has anyone seen such a product here in Thailand that allows you to swap your DVD drive with a caddy that can hold a HDD? What I want to do is to remove my broken optical drive and replace it with a 2nd HDD which is more usefull.

I have seen such products online (non Thai), but haven't seen them on sale here.

I'm in Chiang Mai.

Just order it online. That's what I did, was promptly delivered to Thailand.

Word of warning though: Make sure you know what kind of optical connector is in your notebook prior to ordering. Many people ordered SATA connectors when their optical drive was actually running on PATA. Many mainboards in the past had SATA for the HD, and PATA for the optical, that's why...

Cost about $50, $8 for shipping and $42 for the caddy. Looks very excellent, didn't install yet as I am waiting for the Intel X-25 Postville G2 (32nm) to become available.
