Is there some software i need to use the mic on the computer? I plug it in , but get nothing through the speakers. I thought i could just plug it in and sing over songs on winamp, but no go.

why u wanna sing a karaoke on the computer??? dont u have a VCD player???or DVD player that plays on TV.. ?? Or maybe you could go to the KAraoke Box at MBK or any lotus,carrefour... GOdd sound system LOL

Mic playback through your speakers is usually disabled by default. So, even if you've got it plugged in, you won't hear any sounds recorded by the mic. The mic itself is functioning and the computer gets the signals, and so voice programs like Skype will work properly.

If you want to turn on mic output (not input, that's already on), then double click on the speaker icon in the system tray (near the date/time). Remove the checkmark from the "mute" in the mic column.

Also, for some systems with front panel audio, the front panel mic might have to be manually enabled by the advanced properties.
