Eleven radio signal relay stations will be built on several of Phuket?s beaches to warn tourists and local residents of any future massive waves, the chair of the provincial administrative body, Anchalee Vanich Thepabutr, told TNA today. These stations will transmit warning signals to 12 receiver towers staffed by officials who would warn the tourists on the beaches of possible danger, Kazinform writes citing TNA The provincial authorities are currently carrying out a survey on suitable locations for the system's radio signal relay stations. Construction will start on the project in the near future.
