Thai National Passport Requirements

Featured Replies

I'm planning ahead for a visit to Nan with a friend. A Thai national. I have looked into flights (which are costly but time-saving), does a Thai national require a passport for domestic flights? Or is it enough just to have an ID card?

Also, what are the visa requirements for a Thai national regarding visiting Myanmar (Burma)?

Is it possible for a Thai to cross into Myanmar without a passport?

Thanks for nay help.

Thai national flying domestic only needs ID card. Don't know re Burma, but south to Malaysia Thais can show a border-crossing paper in lieu of passport.

A couple of years ago my wife and daughter entered Burma with just their ID cards and a 50*baht fee. I needed my passport and 20* dollars!

But this was on foot and we couldn't stay overnight.

*If memory serves.
